Updated Evacuation Drills
Our first professional development was learning the district's new evacuation drills!
PBIS and Restorative Circles
I signed up for further training in PBIS and restorative circles. I even had our district PBIS coach come into our class to show the class how restorative circles work. See attachment!
Phonics First Training
The next professional development I attended was an introduction to phonics first. I learned the importance of a phonics-based instruction and how to implement phonics strategies into the classroom, such as the 3-part drill.
CPR and FIrst Aid
I went to a CPR and First Aid training and became certified in both this semester. I learned how to respond in emergencies and the proper ways of providing CPR and First Aid in crisis.
Sound Walls
On March 24, 2023 I attended a sound wall professional development session. I learned about the different mouth and sound formations for sequential linguistic progression.

On March 24, 2023, I attended a sound wall professional development session. I learned about the different mouth and sound formations for sequential linguistic progression.
The next professional development I attended was an introduction to phonics first. At this PD, I learned the foundational pieces of Phonics First and why it is so important for emerging readers. We discussed various phonics strategies, such as the 3-part drill.

I attended a CPR and First Aid certification class this semester in order to become CPR and First Aid certified. I learned how to respond in crisis situations and how to provide CPR and First Aid when there is an emergency.
